The Olive Tree Taverna is a family run business, operating since 1984 and is the oldest taverna in Tsilivi.
With over 30 years of experience and committed to fulfill our customers needs, we cook using fresh seasonal ingredients from local family farms. We use our own organic olive oil, lemons, free range eggs and garden herbs.

Zakynthian Stuffed Chicken Fillet
Stuffed with aromatic fresh herbs & local cheese
SPICY SHIN OF BEEF
Ingredients for 4 -5 portions, 1kg of shin cut in to cubes, 3 cm of grated ginger, 1/2 teaspoon each of ground allspice,, cinammon and ginger. 1 tbsp of dried thyme, 1 tbsp of sugar, a pinch of chili flakes, 1 onion and 3 garlic cloves chopped. Salt and pepper to taste, 1 tin of passata, vegetable oil. Place oil in a frying pan,, when hot sprinkl the sugar in and colour the meat in batches. Add fresh ginger, garlic and onion and fry for 1 minute. Add all the spices, stir and fry for one more minute until they release their aroma. Add passata, salt and pepper, 1 glass of water, stir well and cover with foil. cook in the oven for 3 hours or until meat is very tender and sauce becomes nice and thick. On 170C, gas 6. Every half hour stir the meat so it does not stick to your dish and also check for water adding a little at the time if needed. Serve with chunky chips and your choice of vegetables. Sauteed potatoes are also good or a plane rissoto. KALI OREXI ( BON APETIT )
